Senior Level Assistant Editor with Theatrical Marketing Experience
Seismic Productions is looking for a seasoned Senior-Level Assistant Editor with previous
Creative Agency experience. We are a leading creator of video marketing content for the entertainment industry based in Los Angeles, California. Our clients include major studios and streaming platforms.
We seek a motivated individual to work on-site at our Hollywood office with our team of assistant editors in the finishing and delivery of entertainment marketing content for theatrical, television, web and social media channels. This position requires a quick learner with a technical background and strong attention to detail. You will work closely with fellow AE's, editors, producers, music department and graphics team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Expertise in online/offline workflows, file formats, codecs and frame rates
• Overcutting footage, audio and graphics for editorial and finishing
• Prepping trailer, TV and digital spots for finishing
• In-house finishing
• Exporting OMF, AAF, EDL, XML, and Reference QT files
• Compressing and posting files for client review
• Folder organization and media management
• Pulling content selects and clips for editors, producers
• Ingesting media: Downloading, transcoding, syncing, grouping, building out files, copying from AE volume to editorial volume, notifying editors
• QC'ing internal and external cuts, transcoded and synced media, preps,
final files and in house finishes
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Editor in trailers or entertainment
marketing
• Expertise in Premiere Pro
• Experience with video compression and conversion a must
• Experience in DaVinci and Adobe Creative Suite a plus
• Knowledgeable of delivery formats for digital, social, broadcast and
theatrical and corresponding specs, aspect ratios and file types.
• Must be able to take a job from start to finish, including ingesting media,
syncing, grouping, prepping for color/mix, overcutting and exporting finals
for delivery
• Team player, willing to work with AE team to ensure tasks are completed
quickly and efficiently
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail at all times
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks and pay close attention to detail at all times
• Thrive working in office as team player to ensure tasks are completed quickly and accurately
• Strong communication skills, can take and give direction, respond promptly, and follow through
• Flexible availability for possible late night or weekend work.
This is a full-time position, paying a competitive rate (plus overtime and benefits) based on experience. Job requires in-person work at our facility in Hollywood. No relocations or remote work. You will not be considered if you do not meet the minimum qualifications and if currently live more than an hour drive from Los Angeles.
