Purpose of the Role:
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be one of the rst boots on the ground for Secret Cinema's market entry launch into the US. Over the coming years, you will be central to an ambitious roll out in multiple US cities starting with Los Angeles.
We are looking for a highly experienced Producer who can take the initiative and work at a fast pace in a creative environment. This is a role that requires exibility. For the rst production, you will be the UK Senior Producer's right hand person, working together on the planning and delivery of the production. From there you will be given the responsibility to take new Secret Cinema productions to various US cities.
Given our exciting growth plans, there is plenty of scope to grow and take on increased responsibility as we extend into new US markets and continue to push the boundaries of immersive experiences.
Key responsibilities:
Producing and Production
• Support the UK Senior Producer in the setup and delivery of Secret Cinema's rst US production, including overseeing the broad activities of a cross-functional production team
• Take line producer responsibility to manage, lead and develop the production team, keeping teams energised and inspired with a calm, positive and can do attitude
• Work with the UK Senior Producer to ensure initial concepts are fully researched, developed, costed and budgeted through to the point of production
• Work with the creative team to realise the production, including providing detailed and accurate costings for all operational aspects of the show and ensuring creative ambition can be delivered within budget and on time
• Work with the Production Manager on the management of physical production budgets
• Work with the Production Manager, UK Technical Producer and creative and technical teams to
develop the site design
• Together with the Production Manager, assess the feasibility and suitability of sites for
productions
• Support the General Manager and Production Manager in the recruitment and contracting of key
production and show personnel and be able to source the highest quality talent and on-board
them e ectively and safely
• Recruit concessions partners and oversee and setup F&B o ering, using your strong network of
production/ food/ beverage vendors and partners
• Manage the casting process
• Understand local rules and regulations for event management and delivery
Commercial, Finance and Administration
• Generate, supervise, and reconcile budgets
• Oversee purchasing
• Manage and monitor income and expenditure and updating budgets and forecasts regularly
• Work with the UK Finance Team and US Managing Director to develop realistic forecasts and
budgets for each show in each territory with improving ROI
• Ensure show budgets and P&L documents are up to date and all relevant information is led,
regularly maintained and correctly communicated
• Work with the UK Senior Producer to develop the production process and implement a structure
that increases margin, but still enables the business to operate world-class events
• Work with high-level stakeholders to deliver immersive and in-narrative brand activations
• Work with the Marketing team on activations, stunts and administrating the on sale process
General Duties
• Facilitate conversation among key external stakeholders and represent the Secret Cinema brand within the US market
• Be aware and research what new technology is coming into the market and what we could implement to stand out
Person Speci cation:
Essential
• A proven track record of producing and touring shows with brilliant execution within budget
• Extensive experience of budget building and management of projects over $3million
• At least 5 years professional experience in the arts/events, with a minimum of 3 years senior
producing experience
• Experience at leadership level of producing theatrical, festival or branded/agency events that
have run over time in di erent territories with signi cant budgets
• Well connected within the LA and wider US market, incl. events, entertainment, lm, media
• Wide, varied and quality network/black book of talent, artists and vendors across art, lm, music,
AV, dance etc.
• Solid understanding of production and theatrical departments (i.e. technical, scenic,
performance, operations etc)
• Experienced in pre-production planning, scheduling and coordination of di erent parts to
ensure production runs smoothly and to budget
• Experienced in budget management, including negotiation with suppliers and understanding of
the level of quality required
• Extensive experience negotiating, drafting and executing contracts including with creative talent,
stage management and performers within industry and union requirements
• Management experience - stakeholders, freelancers and talent on a show-to-show basis and
creating an ambitious and best-in-class permanent team
• Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
• A positive, calm, can do attitude
• Strong written communication skills including spreadsheets and reporting at senior level
• Correct Visa / Work Permit
Desirable
• Experience working on at least two immersive events
• Knowledge of event safety guidelines
• Good technical knowledge of theatrical and other events
• Experience working on temporary work sites in adverse weather conditions
• Experience producing food and beverage o erings
• Experience using DocuSign, Smartsheets, Procurement Express, and iZettle Pro
