We are looking for a savvy, creative, and proactive publicist to join our growing team of seven. You know what's happening within the entertainment scene and have a finger on the pulse. You thrive on the best new TV shows, movies, and comedy podcasts and want to live in a world where you eat, sleep, and breathe all things entertainment.
Please note, this is a freelance position. All team members are freelancers paid through personal LLCs and either work remotely or from our shared office space in Los Angeles. You must be based in Los Angeles or New York City. Please see all requirements before applying.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Act as team lead on 4-6 client accounts and assist on others where needed
• Oversee publicity strategy including communications, media relations, events/award shows, social media, and digital media for clients
• Write pitches, bios, talking points, and memos for talent and talent teams
• Pitch, secure, and place regular coverage in online, print, broadcast/TV, and podcast media outlets, both long-lead and short-lead
• Cover clients offsite at events including press junkets, awards shows, premiere parties, screenings, and media interviews
• Media train talent to prepare them for press events and interviews
• Generate talent memos and talent itineraries
• Connect talent phone interviews with the media
• Oversee successful booking of glam (hair, makeup, or grooming) and travel for talent
• Provide social media team lead with information/links for timely posts
Requirements:
• Must have 3+ years of professional (not internship) experience within entertainment PR
• Must have experience working within entertainment public relations/talent publicity
• Strong familiarity and relationships with media across multiple verticals including business, trades, entertainment, lifestyle, and consumer, amongst others
• Ability to manage expectations of clients, agents, managers, and talent teams
• Must have own LLC (freelancers are paid through personal LLCs/own businesses)
• Ability to focus and work remotely outside of a normal office setting
• Ability to freely travel throughout the New York City or greater Los Angeles area (depending on where you are based)
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed (PR is more than a 9-6 job!)
• Organized, self-starter, detail-oriented, strong and effective communicator, professional, and able to anticipate needs
• Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with care
• Own or have access to Apple products including Mac laptop and iPhone
• Experience using Google Drive
