Part Time Unpaid Internship
OVERVIEW
This unpaid internship offers students a hands-on working experience helping the Social Responsibility department plan, execute and deliver on community-based initiatives with the Seattle Storm. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, focused, detail oriented upperclassman undergraduate or a graduate student interested in a career in the sports industry.
Throughout the internship, you will work closely with our Social Responsibility team to support the planning and execution of several community events, as well as events tied to our Corporate Partnership team. These events include, but are not limited to, basketball camp, basketball clinics, game-day promotions, youth leadership sessions and player appearances. Other tasks include community outreach, auction procurement, and ticket fulfillment.
What you will do:
• Work with local community groups and non-profits
• Assist with the execution and preparation of basketball clinics, camp, and StormAcademy sessions
• Engage local community groups in optimizing opportunities and activating team and league community engagement platforms
• Outreach to local businesses and organizations for auction item procurement
• Assist with coordination and organization of merchandise signing sessions with players
• Track requests for auction items and assist in fulfilling with autographed merchandise, game experiences and game tickets as appropriate
• Work with community groups before and during game nights to fulfill strategic comp programs or sponsor requirements
• Support team in outreach to community to attend games
• Assist with customer service regarding redemption of tickets through our ticket incentive programs
• Help manage player/fan engagement on game nights
• Assist with other Corporate Partnership activation as needed

What we ask of you:
• Strong communications skills, especially writing
• Organized, professional, good with the public
• Thrive in fast paced environment, able to prioritize and multi-task
• Self starter, problem solver, not intimidated by figuring stuff out
• Proven relationship-building skills; positive attitude and outgoing personality
• Detailed knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
• Team oriented, willing to jump in and contribute where needed, beyond job description
• Available at least 20 hours per week
• Ideal candidates will be able to stay through the end of our season into the playoffs
• Willing and able to work evenings, weekends, outside events and most home games
