POSITION OVERVIEW
The Seattle Storm is seeking a professional and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in broadcast operations, communications, and/or sports marketing as a seasonal assistant. This position will report to the Manager of Business Operations and work closely with the Broadcast Operations, Ticket Sales, and Corporate Partnerships team.
This is a part-time seasonal position starting in early May and running through mid-September with an extension for playoffs, if applicable. Hours per week will vary based on game schedule, averaging 20 - 25 hours per week. Most shifts will occur on game days with some additional in-office shifts on non-game days and throughout the Olympic Break (July 17 - Aug 15). Attendance at all Seattle Storm games is a requirement. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with production and coordination of televised regular season home games from Climate Pledge Arena and away games from our remote broadcast studio in Seattle.
• Game Day Duties include:
• Act as the Timeout Coordinator (TOC) during regular season home games working as the liaison between the broadcast production crew and referees
• Assist with regular season away games from Storm remote broadcast studio in Seattle
• Aid the Business Operations Manager with prepping producer for each telecast with spot logs, commercial content, promotional reads, and graphics
• Ensure that production crew receives all required hardware and paperwork for each game, including delivering Amazon Bit Fire, scripts, etc.
• Be an active participant in all aspects of the broadcast during the game, including control room monitoring, talent communication, and clock/time coordination
• Work with the Public Relations Manager to facilitate pre-game, halftime, and postgame interviews with players, coaching staff, and guests
• Aid with setup/breakdown
• Help to organize the spot log and on-air talent script leading into each game
• Work directly with the Corporate Partnership department team to capture broadcast content to be shared with partners
• Support overall success of game day through other duties as necessary
ROLE DURATION
• Early-May, 2024 – September 17, 2024 with an extension for playoffs, if applicable
COMPENSATION
• $20/hour
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the 2024 Seattle Storm Schedule.
• Preferred 1 years of relevant experience in broadcast management or sports event space
• Interested in pursuing a career in sports broadcast, marketing/communication, or corporate partnerships
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, fans, and vendors.
• Reliable transportation is required, must have high standard of punctuality
