Productions Development Intern -- Fall 2021
Scout Productions -- the Emmy and Academy award winning production company behind Queer Eye (Netflix), Legendary (HBO Max), Say I Do (Netflix), and Equal (HBO Max) -- has a great opportunity for individuals who want to experience the television business from inside one of the top production companies in the industry. We are looking for a multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude to help our development team with long term projects and weekly tasks. Our interns will be asked to handle a combination of administrative and creative tasks, provide research assistance, follow industry trends, and generally be a helpful and positive presence for our team.
Candidates should be professional, polite, and attentive to detail. They should expect to work independently on complex projects while also responding to the short term needs of the team. Interns should be generally comfortable with email, calendars, video chat applications, and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, interns should have a genuine desire to meet the needs of others. We like individuals who are self-sufficient, take initiative, learn from mistakes, and are passionate about television and pop culture in general.
This role is expected to be about 10 hours per week running from September 7 - December 10th. This position will be hybrid in nature pending the status of Covid-19. We require any interns in the LA area to be vaccinated as office visits are highly likely. The position is unpaid and for college credit.
Responsibilities:
Development: generating lists of projects and talent and conducting industry research
Administrative: organizing talent gifts, building project lists, and other office tasks
Maintaining professional and attentive communication internally on multiple platforms
Requirements:
Well-spoken and an articulate, quick writer
Technologically literate in Google and Microsoft programs (Adobe is a plus)
Curious about unscripted content, and interested in pop culture and media generally
Able to carry out a multitude of tasks, often simultaneously
