Paralegal - Entertainment Law Firm
Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham LLP, is a top boutique entertainment law firm, with offices in New York City and Beverly Hills, serving clients in the motion picture, television and Broadway theatre industry. We are seeking a highly-organized and detail-oriented, paralegal with experience providing thorough, detailed, and skillful analysis, review and research support for our New York office.
The responsibilities are largely re-annotating documents, running redlines, locating precedent and helping attorneys respond to client requests and prepare new client agreements.
Responsibilities:
• Compiles data and prepares various contracts for partners and associates. Conducts mark-ups, finalizes and submits for signature. Runs redlines.
• Drafts, reviews and negotiates release agreements.
• Researches previous client agreements and prior deals; summarizes deal terms; compares offers and prepares information for quotes and/or precedent purposes.
• Re-annotates documents.
• Corresponds with outside parties such as production teams or opposing counsel to help push releases or other short-form documents over the finish line.
• Prepares and files documents for formation of client corporations.
• Searches various internal and external sources (e.g., SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, etc.) to find applicable precedence. Contacts the different guilds to verify policies, rules or regulations and checks signatory status of production. Researches union rules/agreements.
• Maintains and updates multiple internal reference databases and records.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years prior paralegal experience required
• Strong knowledge, familiarity and overall interest pertaining to the entertainment industry
• Superior organization skills
• Dependable and professional
• Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills
