The Volume Capture TD, Generalist will be involved in the processing of volume capture characters and assets for major feature films. Main duties will include detailing 3D, photorealistic character scans and data to the highest industry standards for some of the biggest movies in the world. Ideal candidates will have the ability to maintain a keen eye for detail under tight deadlines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pulls scan data from the capture team and prepares assets for use in post-production and VFX
• Assesses digital assets to ensure that content matches quality requirements
• Identifies and corrects defects in 3D geometry and image renders
• Provides feedback in key areas to the department leads to continue evolving this cutting edge technology
• Helps to maintain knowledge database of project information and best practices as necessary; primarily using confluence
• Independently identifies and reports bugs in bug tracking databases
• Provides support to junior artists and training on proprietary software
• Works with supervisors and leads to maintain a fast-paced delivery schedule
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Practical modeling experience with Maya and Houdini, while Zbrush, or similar packages, is a big plus
• Experience with some file management systems/version control systems (Shotgrid/Shotgun, Perforce, Plastic)
• Excellent organizational, time, and data management skills are a must as this is a fully remote position
• Ability to teach and mentor entry-level artists
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Ability to prioritize workload and deadlines
• Willingness to adopt a broad overview of department and company
• Jira or other bug tracking solution knowledge is also preferred but not required
