
Senior Manager of Production Finance Systems & Workflows

This Senior Manager, Production Finance Systems & Workflowsis a critical leadership role focused on supporting the company's production finance operations and production accounting activities. This role reports to the Director, Production Finance, has multiple direct reports, and additionally will provide comprehensive production finance support for specialized internal and select VFX projects, including complex engagements with partner studios. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of production finance, strong technical acumen, excellent accounting knowledge, and a passion for streamlining processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
• VFX Supervisor Loanout Engagements
• Provide full-cycle production finance support for VFX supervisor loanout arrangements, including contract review, payment processing, compliance, and financial reporting.
Hub and Spoke Engagements
• Manage production finance for ''Hub and Spoke'' models where Eyeline supervises VFX work for the project that is distributed across multiple VFX vendors. Oversee budgeting, cost tracking, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
Outsourcing Support
• Oversee production finance for outsourced roto-paint, matchmove, etc., ensuring accurate cost allocation, vendor management, and timely payments across all projects.
Tax Incentive Audits
• Oversee the calculation of tax incentive calculations, review required documentation, prepare vendor declaration letters, respond to audit requests, maintain audit-ready records and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
Revenue Recognition
• Partner with accounting to ensure accurate and timely monthly revenue recognition for all VFX projects, including preparation of supporting schedules and reconciliations.
VFX Project Prep & Wrap
• Coordinate project setups and wrap procedures, including handoff to/from production finance leads across VFX & Studio projects, including system setup, budget input, initial and final cost reporting, etc.
Invoicing & Collections
• Oversee invoicing and collections processes for all projects, ensuring timely billing, cash flow management, and resolution of client queries.
Purchasing & Accounting Support
• Provide financial support for purchasing and accounting activities related to VFX and stage productions, including purchase order management, production payroll, purchasing card management and expense tracking.
Data Workflows & Reporting
• Oversee, architect and maintain data workflows for payroll labor books, cost reports, and productivity reports, ensuring data integrity across all financial systems.
Studio Cost Reports Oversight
• Oversee the preparation, review, and maintenance of cost reports for internal studio projects and special projects, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with overall financial objectives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
• Minimum 7 years' experience in production finance, FP&A, or accounting, preferably within the VFX, animation, or entertainment industry
• Proven experience managing complex, multi-vendor projects and outsourced workflows
• Strong knowledge of tax incentive programs and audit processes
• Advanced proficiency with finance systems (e.g., Workday), Excel, and Google Sheets; experience with data analytics tools such as DataRails and Tableau is a plus
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Familiarity with Google Gemini or similar is a plus
$160,000 - $200,000 a year
This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location.
