SJPR is looking for a Public Relations Intern, This internship position provides interns with hands-on, real world public relations experience in the entertainment industry. Interns are responsible for assisting with projects, while also tasked with leading projects on their own, such as working directly with the media, conducting research and assisting with new business proposals. Candidates based in New York City and Los Angeles are preferred.
This position will last from June to August, with a chance to be brought on full time.
8 hours a week / 7 days a week
Responsibilities
Research relevant media contacts and build media lists
Assist on several client accounts across the agency
Draft press releases and media pitches
Conduct and compile client proposals and new business proposals
Participate in agency meetings and brainstorms
Identify pitch opportunities and research media contacts and influencers
Monitor and track social media activity and news media coverage
Requirements
Working towards a degree, have a degree, or equivalent experience.
Has 1-2 years of previous internship experience, preferably in PR, music or TV/Film industry.
Must possess a creative mindset and be able to come up with ideas that are both innovative and buzzworthy.
Is extremely well-versed in urban and pop culture.
Ability to effectively work in group settings.
Can craft and execute strategic PR plans and new business presentations with little to no oversight.
Is an action oriented self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering results on time.
Has exceptional communication + interpersonal skills with a desire to work collaboratively with our team.
Is proficient in Google Drive.
