Giants Enterprises, the entrepreneurial arm of the San Francisco Giants dedicated to developing new ventures beyond the Major League Baseball franchise, hosts one-of-a-kind experiences at Oracle Park, throughout San Francisco, on San Francisco Bay and beyond. Giants Enterprises has produced thousands of events over the last 20 years, including the 34th America's Cup, delivering the Official Spectator Experiences and successfully commercializing the event for the first time in its 160-year history. In addition, Giants Enterprises has produced and executed major concerts, international soccer matches, professional & college football games, Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 and The Giant Race series. One of the top hospitality, event, entertainment and sports consultancy teams in the world, Giants Enterprises operates more than 15 venues in and around AT&T Park including two luxury maritime vessels.
Position Summary:
San Francisco Giants Enterprises is seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications to accelerate the Giants Enterprises brand and lead day-to-day marketing and communication efforts for the company collectively as well as for all business units, including public and private events at Oracle Park, Ballpark Tours, The Giant Race Series, The Gotham Club and Giants Maritime Division. The candidate will lead the creation and implementation of strategic and tactical plans for all marketing activities, including but not limited to: brand strategy, digital marketing, advertising, collateral development and implementation, email marketing, public and media relations, client list curation, demand and lead generation as well as project management.
Position Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute annual marketing plans in alignment with company budget and goals
• Lead Marketing team in creating, developing and maintaining all sales & marketing materials
• Establish and champion brand story across all campaigns, materials, outlets, etc.
• Analyze and optimize performance of all marketing activities to maximize conversions, revenue and return on investment and assess against goals and benchmarks
• Direct digital marketing strategy, including: manage digital (email, newsletter, social media, etc.) calendar, curation of all client lists and development of traditional and custom content
• Have a strong understanding of the local, domestic & international Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment & Sports spaces.
• Craft and lead marketing , event and brand campaigns
• Advance company media and advertising strategy and communication and PR efforts to ensure brand awareness and opportunities are strategically maximized
• Direct team to execute all partnership & sponsorship activations in an innovative and strategic manner
• Interact cross-functionally to ensure Giants Enterprises is actively engaged with relevant departmental dialogue in a strategic fashion to determine synergies and drive overall development
• Work independently and with appropriate internal departments to manage the on-sales, marketing, communications, media relations, social media, etc.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships within all relevant partner industries, including but not limited to Convention and Visitors' Bureau's, Destination Management Companies, other venues, relevant local & international associations and vendors.
• Leadership and collaboration within various Partnership formulation and establishment opportunities
• Proactively engage in staff & business development opportunities to further knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and share best practices and local marketing ideas and tactics with the team
Skills
and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree required and emphasis in marketing and communications preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years applicable experience required
• Experience directing brand, digital marketing and demand generation program
• Detail oriented with the ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
• Communications and Public Relations experience preferred.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge and interest in pop culture including sports, music, tourism, lifestyle and film & television
• Quick self-starter, team-oriented and able to work with different personalities and professional styles
• Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a high growth, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
• Experience managing cross-functional projects with defined plans, timelines, and deliverables
• Ability to work non-traditional hours
