Part Time Job
Title: Accounting Clerk, Giants Enterprises
Reports to: Manager - FP&A Manager - Giants Enterprises
Department: Accounting / Finance and Giants Enterprises
Status: Part-Time/Non-Exempt (Estimated 25-35 Hours per week)
Position Summary:
The San Francisco Giants are dedicated to enriching our community through innovation and excellence on and off the field. This position will provide assistance to the Giants Enterprises and Accounting departments with reporting and tracking of event results for all non-baseball events, including Gotham Club and Giants Maritime Services. This position will compile financial information by event and ensure all results are accurately supported from multiple systems of record. Where discrepancies are noted, this person will research and resolve in a timely manner.
Position Responsibilities:
• Perform monthly accounting close duties (i.e. record journal entries and reconcile GL accounts)
• Organize cash receipts and document account coding for deposit
• Reconcile cash receipts between the bank statements and GL to resolve discrepancies
• Prepare monthly event-based P&L statement
• Calculate and input commissions expense by event
• Liaise with Event Managers & Coordinators to identify expenses for accruals and ensure timely payment processing
• Review expense report/invoices for proper coding for accuracy and correct, if needed
• Update and review event coding in labor time management system
• Assist with departmental ad hoc requests
Knowledge and Skills:
• Associates or Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Bookkeeping or related field
• 2 years of related accounting/finance experience
• Knowledge of financial accounting and US GAAP
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Professional (Excel and Word)
• Experience with Workday Financials and Concur desired
• Detail oriented with organization skills necessary to work in a multi-task environment
• Ability to thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and work independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Judgment in handling of confidential matters and information
• Strong analytical ability and perseverance to solve problems with minimal oversight
