How You Will Impact Our Mission
The Entertainment Technical Manager is responsible for the technical aspects of the guest experience in relation to entertainment produced events, shows, and experiences. This position actively collaborates with a variety of stakeholders to ensure entertainment product is aligned with organizational goals. This position reports to the Director of Entertainment.
What you Will Do
Responsible for the project oversight of technical development, design, installation, maintenance and strike of all technical elements in entertainment-based productions at the Zoo and Safari Park that exceed the guests' expectations.
Accomplishes assignments while maintaining effective communication that fosters a positive working relationship with internal departments, meets deadlines and budgets, achieves excellent standards of quality, enhances the guest experience, and ensures the readiness and appearance of all technical aspects of venues, work sites, and equipment.
May manage entertainment team members in their department roles, as well as external production companies during installation, daily operation and strike of events and shows that are focused on creating an excellent customer experience that is maintained with post-production quality checks throughout the events.
Successfully works and collaborates with other Entertainment Managers and Director of Entertainment, as well as creative and production vendors, to design and create unique technical on-brand entertainment experiences for our guests.
Participates in long-range, short-term and major project planning as well as a variety of special events and experiences at either the Zoo or Safari Park throughout the year.
What Are We Looking For
Job Experience
Five years of Entertainment technical production management experience
Experience in theme park or entertainment operations
Supervisory and project coordination experience
Budget and production planning experience
Worked on $1,000,000.00+ shows and experiences
Education and Certifications
In entertainment management or related field
Current valid Driver's License in good standing
Skills and Knowledge
Able to effectively lead and manage teams.
Knowledge of theme park and/or entertainment industry.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to negotiate effectively.
Ability to manage internal and external customer interactions with a high level of tact and diplomacy.
Various audio, video, and lighting show operation software programs
Audio, video, and lighting operations
Be proficient in lighting, staging and backline
Cutting edge show technologies, such as video mapping and drones
Stage and production rigging
Troubleshooting all entertainment technical equipment
Knowledgeable of IP network equipment
Computer proficiency (i.e. Microsoft programs, Word, Excel, macOS)
Technical aspects of show operations
Safety practices and rules
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrate good judgment under pressure
Multi-task at a high level on various projects
Manage deadlines effectively
Develops scopes of work and standard operating procedures
Operate motorized equipment and vehicles
Performance special effects
Various audio, video, and lighting system hardware
Manage large-scale technical productions
