Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) is seeking a forward-thinking Director of Information Technology to lead the strategy, event support, operations, and evolution of our IT infrastructure and services. This individual will oversee all aspects of the organization’s IT environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, scalability, and alignment with SS&E’s strategic goals.
With a strong focus on Microsoft technologies and ITIL-aligned service delivery, the Director will guide a talented IT team while managing key vendor relationships, project portfolios, and technology budgets. This role requires a collaborative leader with proven experience in enterprise technology management, IT operations, and delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
• Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Manage and maintain enterprise infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud services, endpoints).
• Lead IT project planning, execution, and delivery across departments and venues.
• Ensure the security, availability, and scalability of IT systems across all SS&E locations.
• Administer and optimize Microsoft-centric platforms including Azure, O365, Teams, Intune, SharePoint, and Active Directory. (E)
• Oversee service desk operations using ITIL-based practices, with focus on KPIs and user satisfaction.
• Develop, track, and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and capital planning.
• Support enterprise applications and integrations as needed across business functions.
• Collaborate with departments to assess and meet evolving technology needs.
• Maintain strong relationships with technology vendors, contract negotiators, and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, industry regulations, and security best practices.
• Coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity planning and exercises.
• Maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
Who You Are:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA a plus.
• 6 Years of leadership oversight and development of staff serving as technical support within an organization and collaboration with other departments and organizations.
• 5-7 Years of demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining Microsoft solutions in an enterprise environment including: Microsoft Office 365 and Azure environment.
• 5-7 Years experience and knowledge of networking technologies, their implementation and design including: IP management, Router configuration and management, VoIP, VPN, and IPTV.
• 5 years proven knowledge of client/server and internet systems architectures including server virtualization.
• Experience translating business objectives into information technology strategy and formulating short and long term information technology plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven strategic leadership skills.
• 3 or more years’ experience demonstrating executive presence and working closely with other senior executives to identify and prioritize how information technology will be used to support the organization’s business plan.
• Proven ability to relate technical issues to non-technical leadership and staff.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move IT equipment including servers, switches, UPS units, and other hardware up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in environments such as equipment rooms, data closets, and arena infrastructure spaces.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, including at a desk or in server rooms.
• Ability to bend, crawl, and reach as needed for equipment installation and troubleshooting.
• Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required to support events and critical systems.
