Overview:
Oversee all strategy and planning for arena operations to include facilities, maintenance and repair, conversions, HVAC, electrical, as well as contracted services to include but not limited to housekeeping and landscaping; by leading, organizing, managing, and supervising all staff in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This position is responsible for all facility presentation to include building operations management, maintenance and upkeep, cleanliness and safety. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload. This leadership position will also be responsible for staffing and developing the skills of the building operations staff. The eligible candidate should meet a multitude of qualifications, including but not limited to: ability to maintain confidential documents and files, handle multiple tasks, maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude and have strong communication and strategic agility.
Responsibilities:
• Assume management responsibility for all services and activities involved in the maintenance and operations of assigned facility(s) including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment, capital planning, custodial services, set-up services, and landscaping.
• Manage and participate in the development and implementation of strategy, goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of assigned programs and functions.
• Assure the highest quality service to all customers, both internal and external, by establishing standards and supervising managers
• Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; assess and monitor work-load, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identify opportunities for improvement, develop a plan for implementation and review with the VP/GM.
• Select, train, motivate and evaluate management and supervisory staff; provide or coordinate staff training and safety programs; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
• Establish, disseminate and monitor work performance and safety standards.
• Prepare and administer departmental annual budget; develop and maintain Capital Improvement Project reports and recommendations for the facility.
• Supervise the disbursement of departmental funds; establish and maintain controls to ensure that budget appropriations are not exceeded; forecast additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; implement adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant federal, state and local regulations; manage the process of innovative change effectively. Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices.
• Maintain current building drawings and engineering records, equipment, and grounds. Maintain an inventory control system and purchase supplies, parts, and equipment through the established bid or price quote process.
