About the Role- We are seeking a hardworking video editor ready to work in an efficient production environment, We are among the best and most innovative video shooters/editors/producers in the sports world. The primary goal of this department is to create original content, features, game coverage and deliver it via broadcast/streaming services, app, and social media platforms both quickly and systematically for the Spurs, SAFC, Austin Spurs, Spurs Give and other shared services within SS&E. The person in this role will work closely with the Senior Producer, content producers, broadcast and the digital team to establish the most engaging content possible using the latest technology. They will lead the conceptualization, planning, and execution of both short and long-form, sponsored and organic storytelling.
Additionally, this person will be integral in the planning and production of important brand projects such as intro and brand videos. Our successful candidate will possess exceptional technical skills with video equipment and editing software and have an artistic eye that lends itself to authentic storytelling. They can take constructive feedback and work across departments to identify needs and goals of partners to ensure content is being produced in-line with sponsorship contractual expectations and obligations. Responsibilities
• Creates content for a range of initiatives including high profile or tent pole promotions, marketing, and programming across our diverse portfolio.
• Plays a key role in advancing the Spurs content efforts, including developing content, sharing standard methodologies through industry trends, and providing expertise around production and postproduction practices.
• Educates and advises other producer(s) in long-form storytelling from pre-production up and through post-production.
• Collaborates with fellow craftspeople and the network partners throughout the entire project (idealization - production - final delivery).
• Understands and implements intricate department deliverables.
Qualifications
• Experience working on a creative team in an agency or at in-house environments
• Deep craft experience with highly developed ability to develop creative concepts
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
• Knowledge of the NBA and its culture; Understanding of the Spurs Culture is preferred. Soccer/USL a plus
• Can successfully work independently or in a large group when necessary
• A killer sports reel – long, mid and short form a plus
• Notable experience in a fast-paced post-production environment, especially in the promo and quick turn world
• Possess a solid sense for storytelling, design, and musicality
• Knowledge of delivering to social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook & Instagram
• Excels in a high-pressure environment
• Excellent with file management, and time management skills
• Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
• Experience with lifestyle or cultural-impact brands, preferred
• Can work in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time as this role is computer based.
• The stories we tell aren't always told during regular business hours, or in a 40-hour workweek so the ability to work flexible hours including game at night, on weekends and holidays is essential.
