POSITION SUMMARY:
Spurs Sports & Entertainment is seeking an experience security professional to join our Family as the Assistant Team Security manager. The person in this role is responsible for assisting the Director of Team Security with the protection of the NBA and G-League players during home and away games and special events, as well as protecting the team's training facility.
In every position, each employee is expected to: demonstrate alignment with SS&E's core values and mission, collaborate with internal/external family members and demonstrate ongoing development.
Key AREAS of Responsibility, Job Metrics and Competencies:
• Collaborate with leadership in implementing and executing security procedures at the teams' training facility.
• Assist in developing policies and procedures of the highest standard, while maintaining compliance with all team security documents.
• Assist with on-court and locker room security procedures, to include surveying arena and fan conduct.
• Support various security-related analysis efforts, including gathering data and preparing communications.
• Assist in the daily operations of Team Security.
• Provide support to Director of Team Security with away game protocols, to include escort activities.
• Assist with conducting investigations and prepare incident reports.
• Develop strong, positive relationships with security staff for home arena and collaboration efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Required to live in the San Antonio area.
• Minimum of 10 years of law enforcement and/or high-level security related experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount experience in security best practices.
• Must have, or the ability to have and maintain appropriate state license(s) and firearms and First Responder certifications (Texas Private Security License Level IV (PPO)-either card in-hand or verifiable on Texas DPS/PSP TOPS website).
• Ability to professionally work both independently and in a dynamic team setting.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support multiple high-level positions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of security services, law enforcement, investigations, security protocols, training, and reporting, security assessments, and safety preferred.
• Demonstrated success in conducting complex law enforcement investigations and operations.
• Ability to successfully navigate between business/basketball and security environments.
• Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
• Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills required.
• Strong customer service skills required including oral and written communication skills.
• Stand/Sit/Walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Possess active passport with the ability to travel for 41 away games.
