We seek a talented and collaborative Freelance Film Editor to join our post-production team for an independent feature film.

We invite you to join our dynamic post-production team as we embark on the journey to elevate our story to new heights. With the initial assembly already completed, we are looking for a skilled and experienced editor who can sharpen the pacing and enhance the narrative to match the director's compelling vision. The ideal candidate must be willing to come on board for approximately three (3) months, to assist in bringing the film to the final Picture Lock and ready to deliver to the post house for completion.

In this crucial role, you will collaborate closely with both the director and producer to create a captivating, tightly woven story that resonates with audiences. Your responsibilities will include reworking the film's structure, trimming unnecessary scenes, improving transitions, and seamlessly integrating sound and music to enrich the viewing experience.

Preference: Our post-production team is utilizing a cloud-based DaVinci Resolve project platform. Familiarity with Resolve is highly preferred to ensure smooth collaboration across teams, including sound, VFX, and color grading.

Requirements:
• Expertise in editing using the following software;
• DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid, etc.
• Proven narrative editing experience in feature films or television
• Solid background in film editing or post-production
• Strong grasp of visual storytelling, pacing, and narrative structure
• Ability to collaborate creatively and embrace constructive feedback
• Availability for a flexible work schedule during the post-production phase

-The director and producer(s) will select the final candidate, based on the quality of work.
-Past work examples should be made available for review, via a reel or website, etc.
-The pay rate will be established based on the candidate's level of experience and commitment, in addition to the work quality.

This is a paid position and compensation is guaranteed.

We are offering a unique opportunity, whereby, in addition to monthly a salary, the producers are also offering the ideal candidate part ownership of the film, via, ''Profit Participation''. Profit Participation is being offered in the form of a percentage of all net profits (to be negotiated in good faith), based on potential theatrical, domestic, international, and streaming revenues, garnered by the films' future success. Historically, Profit Participation significantly increases the likelihood of attaining future financial gains.

In this case, by offering Profit Participation, in addition to a monthly salary, our ideal candidate for this editor's position, would need to initially be willing to work on a ''deferred pay'' basis.
