Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director, Digital Media, the Video Specialist will work collaboratively with others to create compelling video content that supports marketing/communications programs and initiatives. This individual will edit videos and generally assist with production and post-production including live streaming. They will also record video and/or audio for scripted content, during programs and panels, and at events. Depending on the situation, they may be responsible for conducting interviews and taking photos. Upon request, this role will assist with publishing content, creating and presenting reports and creating other materials as needed.

• Assist with storage, maintenance and tracking of equipment and electronics used for production, post-production and live streaming.
• Assist with preparation and scheduling for video shoots and recording sessions. This includes scouting locations, prepping camera packages, prepping grip and lighting gear, transporting equipment, renting equipment, and coordinating with staff and independent crew.
• Set up and operate professional equipment including cameras, microphones, lights and recording/streaming devices.
• Live streaming video. Operating software/hardware for streaming and switching.
• Manage recorded media. Prepping for editorial and backup/archival.
• Edit video and audio. Create projects, organize assets, identify selects, and edit assigned sections or entire projects.
• Digital asset management. Archive original videos and photos. Search these assets and identify selects to be approved for inclusion in a given project.
• Search for assets like logos or news articles.
• Select stock; music, photos, video, graphics and/or templates.
• Final touches and QC. Depending on the skills and/or development of the person they may mix audio, color grade footage, create motion graphics, composite video, create closed/open captions, render media and proofread.
• Create thumbnails and/or graphics and titles and descriptions for video content.
• Assist with and execute various approval protocols to ensure proper organizational signoff on content.
• Release/publish approved content on YouTube, etc.
• Technical assistance with live streaming zoom meetings and meetings/panels on site.
• Analyze communications/social media metrics across various platforms and report key findings.
• Assist with multiple projects related to the organization’s ongoing digital upgrade and evolution (website, video gallery, emails, app, digital magazine, social media, etc.).
• Participate in departmental reports to colleagues within the organization.
• Assist in developing an institutional handbook to include guidelines and policies/procedures.
• Other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Qualifications

Communications & Marketing
• Proficiency with PC and MAC applications: especially Adobe’s Premiere Pro and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides).
• Experience with live video streaming software like Studio or OBS is a plus.
• Competence in Adobe’s Audition and/or After Effects is a plus.
• Deep understanding of all social media platforms and social media trends.
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP Style.
General
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both verbal and written form.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced

• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non-exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Undergraduate degree: Major in Film/Media, Communications or Journalism.
• 3-5 years of video editing and video production experience; a combination of experience and education may be suitable.
• Cam era/videographer experience is a plus.
• Sound recording experience is a plus.
• Motion graphics experience is a plus.
• Must provide samples.
