Part Time Paid Internship
POSITION PURPOSE:
The main purpose of the HBCU internship experience at SAG-AFTRA will be to provide the participant with an opportunity to gain experience in different business units within our organization. Our goal is to provide the candidate with a unique and diverse experience and a basic understanding of the work the Union performs on behalf of its 160,000 members.
Under the direction of the People & Culture department, the HBCU Intern will support programs, strategies, and initiatives from three to six different departments and will be provided the opportunity to engage and collaborate with employees throughout our organization.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work on a variety of projects within several different departments.
• May be responsible for researching, writing, editing, and producing various content and/or reports as assigned.
• May assist with the coordination of events and/or meetings.
• Interface with staff and leadership on a regular basis.
• Participate in internship workshops (i.e. brown bag lunches, HBCU functions, and other SAG-AFTRA programs).
• Perform general administrative duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Proficient in PC applications and internet-based systems.
• Detail oriented.
• Able to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally.
• Hold yourself and others accountable for a high level of performance and integrity.
• Able to demonstrate an appreciation and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.
• Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA’s sole discretion.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
In the process of obtaining a BA/BS degree from a recognized college or university.
