Full Time Job
POSITION PURPOSE:
To establish and maintain a positive relationship with broadcast members and to provide a resource for the members; for purposes of membership, health and retirement, and contract issues.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• First point of contact for new hires at New York stations; fields general questions about SAG-AFTRA.
• Coordinates with Associate National Director of Broadcast Membership and other Membership personnel for membership work, including assisting local staff when needed.
• Responsible for ensuring that stations notify SAG-AFTRA of new hires, employment status changes and terminations.
• Schedules one-on-one meetings with new members to explain the membership process and assists individuals with membership process, including but not limited to completing applications and addressing membership issues related to leaving union employment.
• Liaison with health and pension plans on coverage issues for broadcasters.
• Ensures health coverage is in place and that changes are made during benefits open enrollment.
• Responsible for dues check-off and premium conversions.
• Responsible for seeking earnings information from NY employers for billing purposes.
• Point person for collecting dues from delinquent broadcasters.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Able to use PC applications.
• Detail oriented.

• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
High School diploma
2-3 years of experience in the broadcast industry and/or union related employment.
