Administrative Assistant (Human Resources)
POSITION PURPOSE: The Administrative Assistant will be exposed to all facets of the department and its functions. This position will be responsible for providing support to the HR department by working on special projects and other general administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with compilation of the Employee Handbook.
• Assist with the organizing of employee files for scanning purposes.
• Assist in filing all relevant employee data.
• Schedule meetings and arrange conference calls.
• Receive and distribute mail and phone calls.
• Maintain a general knowledge of procedures used in the department.
• Assist in processing employee status changes and hires in a timely manner; for new hires – creation of new personnel files and new hire checklist.
• Assist in making ID badges for employees, associates, consultants and Board members.
• Assist with maintaining records and files in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Assist with arrangements for organization events and special functions.
• Assist in providing information for employment verification.
• Participate in weekly departmental meetings.
• Assist in various general administrative functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

• Initiative regarding follow-up procedures on pending matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

• Able to retrieve and relate information accurately and promptly.
• Able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks with multiple deadlines.

• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non-exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• HR related experience and/or proven HR interest.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an administrative support role.
Certificates, licenses, and/or registrations:
• N/A
TESTING REQUIREMENTS:
• Basic skills: spelling, math, grammar and filing – passing score: 76%
• Microsoft Word and Excel tests (basic, intermediate and advanced) – passing score: 76%
• Writing Test
• Typing test 35 WPM
