Job Summary
The Meryl Streep Center for Performing Artists at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation in Los Angeles seeks a skilled Part-Time Video Editor to join our dynamic team and help us share our valuable content with a broader audience. The ideal candidate will have experience in video editing, a strong understanding of digital media, and a passion for storytelling. The Part-Time Video Editor will edit and enhance our Conversations and other Foundation programming, ensuring they are polished and engaging for our YouTube channel and social media platforms. This role requires a commitment to producing high-quality content that aligns with our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Video Editing: Edit recorded Screenings and Q&A Programs to create polished, professional content suitable for distribution on YouTube and other social media platforms.
• Content Enhancement: Incorporate graphics, captions, and other visual elements to enhance the viewing experience and ensure accessibility.
• Create shorts for our YouTube channel and SAG-AFTRA viewers highlighting key moments from our Conversation programs.
• Quality Control: Review and proof all video content to ensure it meets our quality and error-free standards.
• Collaborate with the Programs Team: Work closely with the content team to understand project goals, provide creative input, and ensure that final edits align with our brand and messaging.
• Timely Delivery: Manage your workload to meet deadlines for content publication and coordinate with the team to ensure timely delivery of all projects.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of current trends in video editing, social media best practices, and platform-specific requirements to improve our content quality continuously.
Qualifications:
Experience: You must have proven experience in video editing and a strong portfolio that showcases your work. Experience editing interviews, panel discussions, or similar content is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of graphic design tools like Adobe After Effects or Photoshop is preferred.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
• Communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a remote team.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for the Arts: A genuine interest in the entertainment industry and a commitment to supporting media professionals. The ability to edit our videos from the perspective of the SAG-AFTRA member audience is key, so some performance-based knowledge is preferred.
