The Director of Stadium Operations oversees the day-to-day stadium operations, maintenance, and ballpark cleanliness at Sutter Health Park, ensuring the facility is always show-ready, organized, and fully operational for all baseball games and special events throughout the year. This role plays a key part in delivering a safe, welcoming, and exceptional guest experience.
The Director will lead operational planning and execution across facility operations, maintenance, and event logistics while working closely with internal departments and third-party vendors. The position supports the Vice President of Stadium Operations in implementing operational strategies, overseeing staff, and managing stadium systems, infrastructure, and capital improvement initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising Stadium Operations and Parking staff.
• Plan, assign, and direct work while evaluating performance and providing staff development.
• Foster a positive team environment focused on delivering world-class service to guests, partners, and clients.
• Coordinate and oversee work performed by third-party contractors, vendors, and engineering services.
• Serve as a member of the stadium emergency response leadership team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Stadium Operations & Facility Management
• Plan, direct, coordinate, and review operational work plans for stadium maintenance, facility operations, and event readiness.
• Ensure the stadium remains show-ready through proper maintenance, cleanliness, and operational preparedness.
• Direct and supervise stadium maintenance operations including building systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.
• Monitor facility systems including building automation systems to ensure proper performance and efficiency.
• Oversee stadium cleaning operations and ensure vendors maintain high standards of ballpark cleanliness.
Event Operations
• Support operational planning and execution for baseball games, concerts, and other stadium events.
• Coordinate event logistics with internal departments including Guest Services, Security, Parking, and Events.
• Ensure operational readiness for all events and troubleshoot operational issues in real time.
Capital Projects & Asset Management
• Assist in determining, planning, and executing capital improvement projects to enhance stadium operations and infrastructure.
• Work with property management, engineering teams, contractors, and vendors on facility upgrades and improvement initiatives.
• Help evaluate energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability improvements throughout the stadium.
Safety & Compliance
• Work closely with local governing officials, law enforcement, and Fire/Medical agencies to maintain a safe environment for guests and employees.
• Implement and maintain operating policies and procedures consistent with applicable laws, safety regulations, and league requirements.
• Ensure compliance with MiLB, MLB, and industry operating standards.
Vendor & Partner Coordination
• Serve as liaison to public utilities, environmental, and energy agencies when required.
• Manage relationships with operational vendors including maintenance contractors, cleaning services, and engineering providers.
• Coordinate work with outside vendors and contractors to maintain stadium infrastructure and operations.
Operational Efficiency
• Review, analyze, and evaluate business procedures to improve operational efficiency.
• Implement policies and procedures that enhance day-to-day stadium operations.
• Assist with the planning and management of the Stadium Operations budget.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience managing teams and developing staff in a facility operations environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organization and time management abilities.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and direct maintenance work and operational staff.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and project/task management systems.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by baseball games and stadium events.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, Facility Management, or related field preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in stadium operations, facility management, or large multi-use entertainment venues.
• Technical knowledge in building maintenance systems such as electrical, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, or plumbing preferred.
• Experience working in a large sports or entertainment venue environment preferred.
Salary/Benefits
$75,000 - $85,000 /year USD
Final offers will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided.
