The Sacramento Kings and Golden 1 Center has an exciting opening for a Vice President, Audio/Video & Broadcast Production in Sacramento, California at Golden 1 Center, a 17,608-seat indoor multi-purpose arena. The arena is the home of the Sacramento Kings (NBA), as well as variety of events, including concerts, family shows, comedy, and other live events.
The position reports directly to the Senior Vice President & General Manager of Golden 1 Center and will partner heavily with internal/external partners and department heads for the audio/video and broadcast technical needs for the Arena. The Vice President of Audio, Video & Broadcast Production is responsible for the governance, workflow design and support of all production, display and broadcast systems at Golden 1 Center. Leaning on their leadership, operations and strategical experience, the incumbent will manage all budgets, people and infrastructure as they relate to engineered systems in an environment that is primarily focused on live sports and entertainment production. This position will be responsible for A/V schedule coordination and planning in conjunction with the venue's event and maintenance schedules. This individual will manage A/V staff, including part-time, freelancers, and third-party. The position will supervise (and participate in as needed) A/V set ups, strikes and event-by-event change-outs, to ensure events are show ready. This individual will be expected to work and supervise staff to the highest safety standards, while delivering an exceptional guest experience for a diverse group of guests/clients in the youth, amateur/collegiate, professional, and special events space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage a small group of EIC's, System Engineers, Technicians and Contingent workers.
• Own the engineering segment of the department's annual operating budget and provide guidance on capital investments.
• Work with EIC to establish technical strategy and ensure integrity of technical investments are meeting and exceeding presentation requirements.
• Define and support Golden 1 Center and Sacramento Kings broadcast infrastructure.
• Maintain a progressive, innovative outlook on the use of technology in broadcast and presentation.
• Oversee large technical design and installation projects.
• Manage all A/V and technical services and activities involved in the Event Production and broadcasting at the arena.
• Maintain all A/V technology and equipment inside the venue, including the Control Room, IPTV, broadcast equipment, venue cameras, and other technical systems, to the highest standards
• Provide knowledge of LED display systems and control software operation, audio infrastructure control systems and live sound PA patching, Live Broadcast systems and production truck interfacing.
• Select, train, motivate and evaluate A/V and technical staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures
• Collaborate with staff, outside consultants and integrators on the support and implementation of the state-of-the-art A/V control room and LED System.
• Provide operational expertise for all video, audio, lighting and production systems and equipment used for venue and event presentation including, but not limited to, Control Room, Audio, Video, LED and IPTV systems, content creation and programming.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding facilities presentation with a focus on maximizing the integration of all systems to meet business, marketing, and entertainment goals.
• Assist in the creation of operating procedures for all building A/V, presentation broadcast technical services, and digital media assets; ensure all content is effectively delivered to all playback and show control systems.
• Work closely with all game presentation teams, tenants and clients to engineer and support the execution of presentation elements for all events.
• Provide operational support of all activities related to operating, maintaining, and programming the audio and video systems within the arena, plaza, and other connected properties.
• Support, and hire/schedule, if necessary, the technical game-day operators/freelancers to operate and work all events at the complex.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, and event promoters to ensure game and event presentation content is stored and supported for efficient and effective execution.
• Assist in the development of effective strategies for meeting internal and external client needs through creative deployment of building technology.
• Assist managing third-party service providers by enforcing the agreed upon scope of services within the various signed service agreements (i.e., freelance and union production crewing agencies, maintenance providers, contractors, digital signage service providers, etc.).
• Ensure all equipment is game ready, and events are covered through scheduling.
• Work closely with content creation, Broadcast, IT, AV, Operations, and other groups across to resolve problems and assist in their areas of need.
• Perform duties including lifting, carrying, moving, walking extensively throughout the building, working from various heights, and around moderate to loud noises.
• Prepare and present non-ticketed and various private events inside and outside the venue, including press conferences, banquets, pep rallies, etc. that may require A/V equipment such as portable sound systems and video equipment
• Repair BNC, XLR, Triax, and SMPTE fiber cables as needed.
• Create and maintain all A/V equipment and enter maintenance and repair notes into the facilities CMMS program.
• Assist with scheduling of staff for event production/broadcast needs of the complex
• Assist in the planning and oversee the execution of the work plans for facility event production and broadcasting
• Participate in the development and administration of the Event Production budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures and implement adjustments as necessary within assigned responsibilities
• Develop long range plans for future venue needs, including capital improvements, to enhance events and presentation capabilities
• Order equipment, supplies and materials for A/V technology systems within budget guidelines; receive and maintain equipment and supplies
• Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
• Maintain a customer first mentality
• Ensure staff is working safely, efficiently and are aware of proper safety guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements:
• Minimum of five (5) years of A/V and Technical experience in a sports and entertainment facility.
