Summary: Mission Control provides a critical support function in ensuring the highest standards of customer services, the safety of guests, personnel and assets throughout the Golden 1 Center during events. Control Operators serve as a main point of contact for intake and escalations of all issues as reported by employees, contractors and outside agencies in real time scenarios. Operators must effectively collect, record, and disseminate to departments and contact facilities with maintenance matters. An Operator must be able to maintain a professional and calm demeanor, even in stressful situations. Operators work evenings, nights, and weekend day shifts.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRA's):
• Operate 2-way radio and answer multi-line phones
• Maintain log of incidents and event activities
• Provide event related information to departments by familiarizing themselves with the event summaries and activities taking place during the event
• Reply to customers who utilize the in house texting system
• Multi-Task and exercising good judgment
• Express him/herself in clear, distinct and understandable manner of English
• Value coworkers through polite and excellent customer service and professional etiquette and work together to ensure incidents are logged and dispatched directly.
• Work under pressure, exercise good judgment, and make sound decisions in emergency situations
• Analyze situations accurately and take effective action
• Take accurate notes and prepare concise reports
• Learn relevant policies and procedures
• Type and enter data accurately at a speed necessary for successful job performance
• Have a working knowledge of Golden 1 Center and the DoCo campus
Knowledge of:
• Proper English usage, grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary
• Police Ten Codes
• Methods and techniques of receiving, prioritizing, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for service
• Methods and technique in conflict resolution
Qualifications:
• Two years full time or equivalent part time experience receiving a high volume of dispatch calls and dealing with the public under stressful situations.
• Exceptional customer service skills
• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
• Excellent computer kills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent time-management, problem prevention and problem-solving skills.
• Capable of working flexible hours such as night, weekends, overtime, and on-call as needed.
