Part Time Unpaid Internship
You could be part of the excitement at the Sacramento Kings. Our internship program will contribute to your education and to your professional growth and development. Our program has a rich combination of learning and networking activities that will make your term impactful, beneficial, and yes, FUN!
Interns are responsible for any relocation and/or housing expenses.
Internship Responsibilities:
• Support the DEI team in creating foundational procedures and best practices for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Sacramento Kings employees
• Establish an ERG database for tracking membership, attrition, promotion, etc.
• Assist in building mentorship, allyship and anti-bias learning content supporting DEI education and training objectives
• Curate the monthly DEI Newsletter with EEGs, partners, and colleagues
• Convert DEI best DEI Institute trainings from PowerPoint to a inclusive format for all Sacramento Kings ERGs
• Support strategic alliance efforts with external partners in the DEI space
• Cultivate and develop relationships in the Sacramento NorCal Region with ERG Leads for joint engagement opportunities and to build larger networks.
• Develop and execute logistics of special internal events including internal speaker series and other DEI specific employee engagements initiatives such as Power Café DEI Conversations and Heritage Month celebrations.
Qualifications
• Be enrolled in or have recently graduated from an accredited undergraduate degree program related to human resources, psychology, communications, liberal arts, cognitive sciences, or business, with a graduation year of 2021, 2022, 2023 or 2024
• Experience with Microsoft Office 360 applications (especially Excel) or equivalent (Google Docs/Sheets, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with everyone from other interns to SVPs, via email and video
• A willingness to embrace diverse people and foster an inclusive environment
• Ability to sift through data and make relevant correlations
• A growth-oriented mindset that helps you embrace challenges, be persistent and learn from mistakes
• Compassion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive subject matters
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations
• Ability to work full 25-hour weeks hybrid from mid-September to April 30th, 2022
