Interns are responsible for any relocation and/or housing expenses.
Summary:
The Arena Operations Intern is responsible for the operation and execution of miscellaneous duties for all events and functions. This position will help coordinate, and ultimately manage assigned needs and requirements for all events at Golden 1 Center. The position will also require helping with other departments within the Arena Operations department, such as Guest Services, to help in the execution of events and administrative and game day responsibilities.
Key Responsibility Areas:
• Provide support within the Arena Operations Department for day-to-day operations and all event productions.
• Develop and create event documents to communicate with all arena departments regarding event operational needs and requirements.
• Help coordinate facility events and act as a liaison to facility users to provide information and assistance from conception to production.
• Develop and maintain post event summary and correspondence as required for all events.
• Ensure proper arena set up for all events, including conversions.
• Help coordinate with assigned departments their needs to fulfill requirements for Arena events and functions.
• Work closely with various arena departments to understand their role within the organization and arena.
• Help manage/coordinate assigned arena special projects.
• Help manage/coordinate assigned (various) departmental special projects.
• Develop and maintain post event summary and correspondence as required for all events.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• An interest in Sports Management, Facility Management, Event Management or related field of study.
• Effective communicator in a high pressure and dynamic work environment. Proven decision maker in pressure situations.
• Skill and ability to organize, plan and prioritize daily workloads; proven ability to meet stringent deadlines through multi-tasking and ability to work effectively in high pressure situations.
• Ability to work as a team player and support a team environment.
• Demonstrated skill in providing high standards of quality service.
• Skill in establishing strong customer relations and meeting or exceeding customer needs and expectations.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required.
• Computer literate
• Preferred proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD Suite
• Knowledge and passion of NBA Basketball.
