POSITION SUMMARY:
Saban Music Group is seeking a commercial revenue and business development professional to develop and execute the company's broad reaching global sales strategy. This individual will maximize revenue for SMG's roster of artists across every established, emerging and future platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with brands, artists, agents and management representatives, with a larger contact list within the music industry, especially in Latin. The role reports to the CEO and manages a team of two sales professionals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Senior leader responsible for driving results across all revenue pillars including brand partnerships, touring, merch, streaming, syncs, etc.
• Leverage career-long experience and partnership relationships with brands, ad agencies, music agencies, touring promoters, merch companies to maximize all music revenues
• Establish long-term revenue strategies and opportunities for SMG's roster of artists, music and their brands
• Partner with Manager of Brand Innovation to pitch SMG's repertoire to advertising and branding agencies as well as directly to brands to negotiate and close partnership deals
• Guide SVP of Commercial Affairs to maximize playlisting opportunities on all streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Deezer, YouTube, Vevo, etc.
• Act as key lead between SMG and each artist's music agent and/or manager working closely with SMG's Pop/Urban and Latin marketing teams to maximize all live touring opportunities
• Build, develop and maintain relationships with decision makers to secure music syncs in film, TV and commercials
• Establish best practices for maximizing merch revenues when artist is on tour and off
• Build, maintain and maximize relationships with key account contacts as needed and necessary, in the USA, Latin America and across the globe
• Join and guide regular discussion of artist release strategy
• Travel as required to maximize revenues
• Share weekly and monthly reports for key channels of revenue
REQUIREMENTS:
• Senior level experience in sales, ideally in brand partnerships and all music channels
• Fluent in Spanish and expertise in the Latin music industry is a must
• Possess established experience and relationships with brands, ad agencies, music agencies, promoters, DSPs and across the music industry landscape
• Experience managing a team with strong leadership skills and ability to develop and execute strategic projects
• Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with both creative and business-oriented colleagues and partners
• Understanding of global music market with extensive experience in English language and Spanish language music including Latin America
• Resourceful with data analytics in order to close deals
• Have strong organizational and project management skills
• Clear and effective communicator excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
• Eats, lives and breathes music with an intense passion to close deals
• Proactively and productively thrives in an entrepreneurial setting, while being receptive, open-minded, and objective when encountering diverse points of view
• Bachelor's or master's degree preferred but not required
