Who we're looking for...
RWS Entertainment Group is currently seeking seasonal On-Site Technicians to join our team of world-class designers and production staff in the Global Entertainment and Experiences Departments.
About the role...
The ideal candidate will provide assistance and support to the Global Entertainment and Experiences team with on-site installation, operation, maintenance and strike. This team member will act under the direction of the Project Lead and will assist in operational and creative logistics to ensure the successful and safe execution of productions and events.
What's expected...
-Assist in any technical and operational aspects of productions and installations with the ability to work smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
-Ability to work in a timely manner by adhering to the install/strike schedules executed by the Production Coordinator.
-Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, co-workers, and clients.
-Abide by RWS technical site safety programs to meet industry standards. (i.e. OSHA, Maritime OSHA, ETSI, etc.)
-Understand that the position may require extensive travel or relocation, with evening and weekend responsibilities dependent on production schedules.
-Willing to listen and learn about daily operations from the Production Coordinator and/or other RWS staff members.
-Attend daily safety meetings with a varying subjects each day.
-Willing to work alongside your fellow crew members, in all environments, to maintain a positive daily work environment.
-Knowledge of and skill in the use of general hand and power tools.
-Basic knowledge of carpentry, lighting, rigging and electricity.
-Must have the ability to lift and carry over 50 pounds.
-Must have the ability to work at heights of at least 60 feet for extended periods of time with minimal breaks.
-Must have the ability to work in all weather conditions.
-Must provide personal basic hand tools including a cordless impact driver, assorted bit set, standard pliers, channel lock pliers, diagonal cutters, tape measure and an all-weather box for tools.
-Must be able to provide clothing suitable for all weather conditions, being aware that work will continue in rain when no lightning is present.
-Experience with counterbalance fork lift, telehandler and boom lift, a plus.
-Overnight shifts may be required.

What you bring...
-At least 2 years experience in the entertainment or construction business
-A knowledge of large format temporary power distribution, a plus
-Ability to read and understand floor plans, two and three-dimensional design models and technical drawings
-A knowledge of safe theatrical and event construction and rigging practices and regulations
-Basic knowledge of all technical elements associated with lighting, sound, video production and installation
-Experience with power tools, ladders, lifts and electricity
-The ability to offer analysis and decisiveness when making decisions
-Ability to prioritize and multi-task calmly and effectively while working with a project leader under tight deadlines
-Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
-Exceptional attention to detail and safety, and excellent analytical and verbal communications skills
-Willingness to ''roll up your sleeves'' and get into the details as a team player with a proactive and positive ''get things done'' attitude
-A strong work ethic
-Enjoy developing creative solutions for complicated challenges
-Strong appreciation for result driven, hard work
-Familiarity with OSHA safe working practices
-Loyalty, passion, and integrity
-Self-motivation with the ability to work independently
-A valid driver's license

-Project completion dates vary based on location and venue. Completion dates between October 2019-December 2019.
