Who we're looking for…
RWS & Associates is currently seeking a Technical Manager with a strong focus in audio engineering.
About the role…
Reporting to the Director of Technology and Design, the Technical Manager will be responsible for the successful set up and maintenance of audio systems in local performance venues utilized by RWS. This includes configuring and troubleshooting flexible DSP systems for multiple zoned audio support, live entertainment audio mixing and troubleshooting, and providing diagnostic support as well as equipment upgrade recommendations. At times this role will act as stage manager and sound engineer for touring acts at key venues.
What's expected…
Provide a friendly and courteous client-facing representative for RWS when dealing with all events and requests.
¥ Set-up and test each venue's sound equipment prior to the start of venue operations.
¥ Break down and winterize all outdoor equipment following the conclusion of venue operations.
¥ Provide sound engineering services for local and touring acts as well as special promotional events
¥ Training and demonstrating the safe and recommended operation for all of venues' equipment to external production companies.
¥ Maintain and perform minor repairs and/or diagnose audio equipment issues.
What you bring…
¥ Minimum BFA/BA degree in Sound Engineering and Reinforcement, and/or a BFA/BA in Technical Theater or Production/Venue Management.
¥ A minimum of 5 years professional experience working with audio systems in theater, dance, corporate, theme park, or a touring entertainment.
¥ Extensive knowledge and experience in the entertainment and live event production industry.
¥ The ability to analyze and evaluate the need for technical support for various events and performances.
¥ An analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate to staff, clients, and vendors.
¥ The ability to negotiate with vendors and discover creative solutions to keep projects on target and within budget parameters.
¥ Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
¥ Motivated, loyal, passion, integrity, mission-driven, and self-directed.
