Seeking an exceptional, resourceful, self-motivated Los Angeles-based full-time direct assistant for literary agency owner, Holly Root. You might be our perfect match if:

-You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Your past bosses were wowed by your attention to detail and organizational skills
-You get giddy about project management and productivity hacks
-You're equally willing to assemble a galley mailing AND read a hotly anticipated submission
-You're discreet enough to only flail about that hotly anticipated submission internally, and when it comes to client information, you're a vault
-Contracts and numbers don't scare you; in fact, you find them fascinating
-You're a kind and supportive colleague
-Bonus points if you can compose a tasteful Tweet and love a good Bookstagram, as a small portion of the job will be supporting our agency assistant with social media
Responsibilities:
-Review royalty statements
-Track contracts and payments
-Coordinate agent's schedule
-Read and assess query letters
-Provide readers' reports and second reads on manuscripts as requested
-Assist agent with tracking and responding to a heavy reading load (10-12 manuscripts per month, minimum)
-Communicate with coagents, publicists, editors, and other industry personnel about client matters
-Assist agent with client correspondence/management
-Proactively find ways to increase overall efficiency and productivity
-Administrative office tasks, including email, physical book mailings, cloud-based filing system management, and data entry in our CRM service
