Job Description:
You'll support the creation of content for Instagram and TikTok, contribute ideas and editorial content for our Substack, and help us experiment with innovative ways to reach and engage new audiences. The role will also provide exposure to the creative and acquisitions side of the business through creator outreach, research, and administrative support.
Most importantly, you should love horror!
We're looking for someone who genuinely understands and is passionate about the genre, its creators, its fandoms, and the culture surrounding it.
Key Responsibilities:
• Help create original social content for Instagram and TikTok
• Brainstorm creative concepts, recurring content formats, and new ways to grow and engage the Room418 audience
• Assist with maintaining the social media content calendar and scheduling posts
• Identify relevant trends, conversations, creators, films, series, and cultural moments within the horror community
• Contribute ideas, research, and written content for the Room418 Substack
• Engage with our community across social platforms, including comments, DMs, and relevant accounts
• Track social performance and help identify insights and opportunities for growth
• Research emerging horror creators, filmmakers, writers, and digital storytellers
• Support creator outreach and communications
• Provide administrative and research support to the acquisitions and creative team
• Help identify new voices, projects, and potential partnerships for Room418
Skills and Qualifications:
• Must be a genuine fan of horror and passionate about the genre
• Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram, including trends, platform features, and short-form content
• Creative instincts and an interest in developing content that feels fresh, culturally relevant, and shareable
• Strong writing skills and an interest in editorial storytelling and platforms such as Substack
• Comfortable creating or helping produce social-first video content
• Curious about emerging creators, filmmakers, writers, and new forms of storytelling
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
• Interested in entertainment, film, television, digital media, or the creator economy
Experience with video editing, graphic design, Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar content creation tools.
This internship is for school credit only. Applicants must currently be enrolled in school or have graduated within the last 3 months.

Room 418 is a new horror studio and digital destination that brings the horror genre to life across social and digital platforms. It is built around emerging creators, original IP, and new storytelling formats, focusing on a mobile-first platform designed for horror fans with an emphasis on short-form and vertical storytelling. The studio aims to build a broader creative ecosystem that discovers new voices, develops original projects, and connects creators directly with a global genre audience. Additionally, Room 418 is actively exploring emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools, to enhance content creation, discovery, audience engagement, and the future of storytelling.
