The VP of Marketing will oversee Rolling Stone’s integrated marketing department and will be responsible for developing innovative, idea-driven 360 programs that elevate Rolling Stone’s creative marketing and branded content for our largest corporate partners. These include six and seven-figure native advertising, branded content and event packages that are authentic, engage audiences and enhance partnerships. The ability to innovate, implement first-ever marketing tactics across digital & social channels, licensing and experiences, and deliver impactful campaigns will be paramount to our success. In alignment with Rolling Stone’s culture-defining editorial, the VP of Marketing should have their finger on the pulse of culture, trends and ideas.
This person will provide leadership for Rolling Stone’s 4–6 person marketing & design teams, leading brainstorming sessions and collaborating with senior management teams across digital, video, print, experiential and editorial, producing solutions to meet client’s business and brand objectives.
In overseeing Rolling Stone’s integrated marketing department, he/she will be responsible for elevating the aesthetic of the Rolling Stone brand marketing materials in the marketplace while shifting perception among influential consumers and a growing audience. Working with the sales team, The VP of Marketing will manage all custom packages, from campaign development through launch, post-campaign reporting, and long-term client management. This role will be an individual contributor in addition to management responsibilities, as Rolling Stone values an engaged leadership team with key contributions at all levels.
The ideal candidate must be
• An idea-first creative thinker, innovative and understanding how to create digital/video/social/events packages that elevate the Rolling Stone brand and our partner executions.
• The VP of Marketing will manage the day-to-day operations of a large marketing team that produces custom advertising, high-profile events, merchandising, sales materials, and other promotional plans while managing vendor relations and a department budget.
• The VP of Marketing will interact with Senior Executives of Rolling Stone and Penske Media Corp. (PMC) while managing a team of creative & design marketers.
• He/She will oversee the conceptualization and execution of award-winning integrated programs and bring big ideas to life for our partners.
Requirements:
• Prior content publishing or agency marketing management
• 10 years of experience
• Willingness to be involved as a contributor in addition to managing a staff
• Results-oriented with a strong digital, video, and social portfolio
• Proven big-picture thinking and executing effective digital, video, and social, events strategies
• Deep knowledge of emerging digital platforms and technologies and new product innovations – well-informed on industry trends and ahead of the curve, especially in social, video and web3 strategies
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines and quick turnaround Proficiency in digital performance, user experience, multi-platform content execution and effective mobile and social media strategies
• Strong leadership and management skills
Typical wage range: $140k - $160k
Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
