This is a Freelance Unpaid Internship
Internship Start Date/Season: TBD (mid-June)
Internship Duration: TBD (Could be just one gig, or several months, if you're good at setting up and breaking down production equipment quickly and efficiently.)
Time/Days Required: TBD (This is a film set, so the dates & times are random. Generally, we film late, after the closing hours of the location, but not always. The full beginning-to-end production lasts 3 - 5 hours. This is why I need PAs, we need to shorten that time. Ideally, we'd have a 45-minute setup, a 45-minute show, and a 30-minute breakdown. A 2-hour in-and-out is the goal.)
Workplace Requirements:
• 1st and foremost, you must be okay with cannabis and tobacco smoke, and it is preferred if you are a frequent cannabis user, because the nature of the production will fill the set with smoke, and I need you to be functional for the breakdown. Smoking is optional, but also preferred because it will accelerate the show, as we always need help smoking the blunts at the end.
• 2nd, you must be eager to learn all the basics of production: setting up tripods, lights, cameras, framing, focus, audio, etc. Bringing your own equipment is optional, but always preferred and greatly appreciated. And we will work fast, so be ready. The breakdown doesn't need to be clean, as long as all the equipment is off location and in my car by our deadline, I can organize all the gear after at home.
• 3rd, not necessarily required, but it would be great if you're also willing to learn basic Final Cut Pro editing skills. I will do the actual final cuts, but I need someone who's willing to sync all the video and sound media, trim away the fat, slap on the assets at the appropriate spots, make a basic credits sequence, and I'll do the rest. You don't need to do any transitions or color correction, just the basics - putting everything where it needs to be. I hate that part of editing. I have the footage for one future episode ready to give right now, so if someone wants to assist, it would greatly expedite the workflow of these episodes, which can then get everyone paid faster, and will give you legitimate experience for your resume right away.
