This is a Part Time Paid Internship
Title: Broadcasting and Media Relations Internship
Department: Marketing and Media Relations
Reports Directly To: Marketing and Media Relations Manager
Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is looking to add a Broadcast intern who will assist the Media Relations and Marketing team in coverage of Spring Training and the Florida State League seasons.
This position will work alongside the broadcasting operation for the entire Florida State League season, while assisting with marketing and in-game production for Spring Training. There is an expectation that this role will also contribute to the sales team throughout the season.
Responsibilities:
• Provide color commentary calls for all home games for the Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm Beach Cardinals during the regular season and playoffs if necessary.
• Assist with the stadium public relations, facilitating press credentials, interview requests, press releases, and working alongside local media partners.
• Write and distribute game notes, stat packs, official team rosters, and post-game recaps to the team websites.
• Work alongside team coaching staffs/officials with lineups, stats, and rosters for each game.
• Collaborate with the Media & Promotions department on social media projects, as well as providing in-game updates with photos, engaging graphics, highlights, and scores to each night's game.
• Assist in production of in-house video and audio projects throughout the year.
• Assist with the schedule of part-time play-by-play broadcasters, camera operators, and other part-time positions for home games at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
• Sell group picnics, suites, season tickets, and base-level corporate sponsorships for both Spring Training and the Florida State League seasons. This also includes monitoring inventory and selling actionable items within the home broadcasts.
• Participate in lead generation via cold calling, community event attendance, and in-stadium activities.
Experience Required:
• Experience broadcasting play-by-play for baseball. – Please provide demo reel / portfolio links
• Must have exceptional technical writing skills – Please provide examples of past work.
• Outstanding knowledge about the game of baseball.
• Must be willing to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be willing to cooperate and work well with other areas of the organization.
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Adobe Creative (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.).
• Experience with Daktronics software is a plus.
• Must be able to interact and work closely with customers and present themselves in a professional manner.
• Must be willing to work both in a team setting as well as an individual.
• The ability to multi-task and think critically is a must.
• If outside of Palm Beach County, must be willing to commute/relocate.
• Must pass a drug test and criminal background check.
Salary: Florida State Minimum Wage
