The Houston Rockets and Clutch City Sports & Entertainment is seeking a dynamic Associate Counsel to join our family! As the Associate Legal Counsel, you will join a team who is focused on delivering impactful insights and results to our internal and external customers. Our ideal candidate will use their legal knowledge, experience and outstanding relationship skills to collaborate closely with multiple internal departments to help achieve our goals and objectives. General Description:
This position serves as an interface between the legal department and other internal business units regarding a variety of business transactions and legal matters, with a primary focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Support the operations of the Company on a broad range of legal matters, including
commercial transactions, intellectual property, labor and employment, and litigation
management
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including sponsorship agreements,
suite licenses, master services agreements, and other general commercial contracts
• Maintain, manage, and oversee the contract administration process
• Track key dates of upcoming renewals, expirations, and options
• Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal department
processes
• Work with outside counsel to assist in monitoring Company's litigation docket
• Advise business staff on legal issues and risks
• Manage compliance with NBA rules and regulations
• Remain current on laws, rulings, and regulations affecting the Company's business

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• Juris doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Texas
• Minimum of three years' experience in corporate/transactional law at a mid- or large-size law firm
• Strong contract drafting, analysis, and negotiation skills
• Detailed oriented, business minded
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
• Able to work under pressure and to handle work-related stress
• Friendly, courteous, professional, outgoing, and customer-service oriented
• Able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision
Physical & Mental Requirements:
• The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use, handle, or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate with others.
• The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
• The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
• The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
