This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
UJC Student Ambassador (Spring 2026)
Title: UJC Student Ambassador (In-Person, Unpaid, For College Credit)
Location: New York, NY (On-site)
The UJC Ambassador will work on key UJC projects, including planning for the 2026 UJC Summit in New York City and maintaining regular communication with multiple stakeholders, including students, public officials, social justice organizations, activists, impacted families, and more. The UJC Ambassador will also support advocacy efforts in Kansas City, Kansas, and other criminal justice related projects.
This is an unpaid 10-week Spring internship opportunity for credit starting in JANUARY 2026 at the Roc Nation Headquarters in NYC.
Learning Opportunities for the UJC Student State Ambassadors include:
• Outreach + Recruitment
• Train with Team Roc on best practices for targeted outreach to educational institutions, local officials, activists, and social justice organizations in your designated state
• Maintain an active list of all contacts and maintain close communication with internal and external teams, track communications and follow up in a timely manner and as needed
• Schedule in-person or virtual meetings with school leaders and student affairs representatives
• Conduct grassroots outreach in local communities, schools and organizations
• Actively update planning team on outreach efforts and provide any recruitment updates and/or challenges
• Digital Marketing + Promotions
• Collaborate with Digital Marketing team to engage with targeted audience using all official UJC marketing materials - promote UJC-related activities to outreach networks on social media (IG, TikTok, FB, LinkedIn, etc, and on emails/list-servs)
• Assist with identifying local media, social and broadcast outlets to promote UJC-related activities
• Provide suggestions to the planning team for improving user experience and spreading brand awareness
• Content and Program Development
• Assist with research on topics and/or speakers
• Assist with research on social justice organizations and impact
• Assist with legal summaries and briefs
• Advise on content that engages student voices and participation
• Administration + Reporting
• Provide progress reports on a weekly basis to your designated supervisor
• Support Team Roc administratively in day to day operations, creating meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes and providing updates to management
• Other learning experiences related to the project
Candidate Requirements:
• Must be current student, enrolled in a Bachelor's/Master's program at an accredited college or university
• Must be able to attend all weekly meetings (virtual or in person)
• Bilingual Proficiency and/or Spanish Speaking skills a plus
• Computer proficiency with MS Office products and Google Suite
• Experience managing and navigating social media communications
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills and ability to connect with various constituencies
• Strong ability to work independently as well as within and across teams in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment
• Flexible with changing priorities and multi-tasking while maintaining a positive, optimistic attitude and demeanor
• Share an authentic passion for cause-driven work
• Able to intern 16 hours per week
