Part Time Unpaid Internship
Revolve Impact is looking for students who are passionate about the issues related to social justice, prison reform, education, inequality, etc. and interested in contributing to creating real alternatives to these issues as part of a multi-disciplinary office team.
Revolve Impact is a global social impact agency that combines organizing and the creative arts to drive communities to action. Revolve Impact offers policy, marketing and strategic media expertise to a diverse and influential clientele including nonprofit and government entities, artists, corporate communities, and philanthropic foundations.
Revolve Impact is a fast paced work environment and we seek talented interns who crave learning new skills and aren't afraid to tackle big projects. As an intern you will get to work with a variety of our staff, consultants and clients while working on real projects that will help us grow.
Ideal candidates will have a strong ability to function as a team player; enthusiastically tackle a variety of projects; employ a variety of critical thinking, analytical and strategic thinking skills; strong research and writing skills; possess the ability to produce quality work with a minimum of staff supervision.
Responsibilities
Contribute to policy outreach and communications efforts in several issue areas, including: Privatization, Prison reform, and Criminal Justice
Conduct online research, factual investigation, interviews, and document review as needed
Research policy and assist staff in compiling various briefs
Draft press releases and assisting in media outreach efforts
Attend campaign meetings and events, and assist client with general event management duties including (but not limited to): guest check-in, liaising with vendors and Security, distributing free giveaways (t-shirts, pins, stickers, etc.), acting as directional greeters and guest escorts, collecting voter pledge card signatures, encouraging guests to visit community tables and visit the on-site art installations and communicating overall logistical concerns/needs to senior event staff
Organize and manage Revolve Impact's existing research database
Work with our Social Media and Project Management teams to find content from other sources to produce fresh, original content to share through Revolve Impact's social channels
Provide administrative support Revolve Impact Staff as needed

Qualifications:
• Individuals completing degrees in humanities/liberal arts, such as: public relations, communications, political science, or criminal justice are encouraged to apply.
• A demonstrated commitment to immigration and criminal justice issues, particularly prison reform in the United States, racial discrimination in criminal justice, and /or human rights in the United States.
• Some experience working with Microsoft Office applications. WordPress experience a plus.
• Experience working on Google based platforms (Google Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc.)
• Well developed organization skills with attention to detail.
• Mature and reliable
• Experience or interest in working large scale events such as conferences, festivals, concerts, etc.
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to take direction and work as a team - friendly and courteous, willing to work as part of the larger community efforts to end mass incarceration.
• Excellent writing abilities.

Details:
Hours: 10-15 hours per week.
Start Date: January 2017 [Exact date is flexible]
This position is unpaid but can be completed for college credit.
