This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Return Records is an independent sound recording corporation based in New York, NY. The label distributes through The Orchard and Sony Music Entertainment, with U.S. publishing administration through Sony Music Publishing. Return Records looks to become a ''Motown'' for the digital age by providing the building blocks of success for emerging musicians, creators, and artists. The label specializes in House, Pop, Disco, Funk, Soul, and R&B.
Your role is central to expanding our label's presence in the music scene by securing venue placements, managing relationships, and increasing exposure for our artists. Your efforts will be vital to promoting the house, pop, disco, funk, and soul expressions that power the label's community. Your work will be crucial to maintaining operational efficiency and expanding the label's reach in the evolving music industry.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Locating and securing suitable venues for label acts.
• Handling scheduling, travel itineraries, and meeting arrangements for event placements.
• Maintaining up-to-date records of contacts, contracts, riders, ticket reports, etc.
• Researching talent for specific projects or talent buyer requests.
• Coordinating proper equipment and logistics with event staff (e.g., A/V, Photographers, Videographers, Guests, etc.)
Qualifications:
• Excellent analytical, networking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to ever-changing priorities and environments.
• Experience with office productivity software like Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, Adobe, Squarespace, and Canva.
• Passion for music and a deep knowledge of various musical genres.
• Familiarity with digital streaming services and music data sites.
• Pursuing or having completed a degree in Music Business, Media & Entertainment, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience in event planning, talent management, sales, or live entertainment preferred.
• Local to the tri-state area (New York/New Jersey/Connecticut) preferred.
