We are looking for an Accountant with 4-5 years' experience with international accounting, financial reporting and strong knowledge of IFRS with the ability to research and propose recommendations on complex accounting issues. Primary responsibilities include managing the preparation and submission of the financial reporting package for international subsidiaries to Corporate Finance in the UK. This includes, but is not limited to, month-end, year-end, annual budget/strategic plan submissions in Hyperion consolidation system. This position will work closely with Finance departments located in Brazil and Mexico to ensure their financial reporting package is in compliance with IFRS and is in a format that will meet submission requirements. This is a hands-on position and will personally prepare the financial reporting submission to UK Corporate Office. This position will also be the first point of contact for Corporate Finance in UK relating to all financial reporting questions.
In addition, this role will function as the ReedPop Accountant, handling general accounting functions supporting the ReedPop Finance Managers/Director as outlined below.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting:
• Manage financial reporting consolidation process, which includes the collection, analysis and consolidation of financial results from Brazilian and Mexican offices
o This includes month-end, year-end and annual budget/strategic plan submission
• Ensure compliance with IFRS prior to submission to the UK Corporate Finance
• Prepare submission of consolidated financials to Corporate Finance through Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
• Partner with Corporate Finance to be first point of contact on all financial reporting related questions to resolve all open issues
• Prepare written month-end report, documenting major movements in Income Statement and Balance Sheet
• Responsible to liaise directly with Finance departments for international subsidiaries to provide guidance on how to prepare financial reporting package, as well as answering accounting related questions.
ReedPop Accountant:
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and corresponding JE's for ReedPop specific activity
• Prepare weekly ticket sales analysis for all ReedPop events
• Prepare Accounts Payable vouchers as needed
• Prepare supporting documentation for 3rd party settlements and other various analysis
• Travel to ReedPop events, as schedule allows, supporting onsite cash activities
• Special projects as needed
• REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
2-5 years' experience
International accounting and financial reporting experience, preferably with Big 4 or national accounting firm
Excellent knowledge of IFRS regulations with ability to research and propose recommendations on complex accounting issues
Strong written communication skills
Experience working with remote offices in multiple countries
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with ability to perform complex calculations
Bilingual skills a plus
