DESCRIPTION:
Red Seat Ventures is seeking a Guest Booker & Media Producer to join our production team, responsible for identifying, securing, and managing high-profile guests who will drive compelling, timely, and relevant conversations on our program. This role requires exceptional editorial judgment, deep industry contacts, and the ability to work under intense deadline pressure. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Producer and Host to ensure that the program features the best voices on the day's most important stories.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead Guest Strategy:
Develop and execute a daily and long-term booking strategy aligned with the editorial priorities of the program.
• Guest Acquisition:
Identify, pitch, and secure influential newsmakers, subject-matter experts, policymakers, and thought leaders for live and taped segments.
• Editorial Coordination:
Work with segment producers and the executive producer to ensure guest selections enhance editorial coverage and audience engagement.
• Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with publicists, agents, government offices, advocacy groups, and experts across beats.
• Breaking News Response:
React quickly to breaking news by securing authoritative voices within minutes or hours of developments.
• Guest Preparation:
Oversee pre-interview research, talking points, and logistical coordination to ensure smooth on-air appearances.
• Tracking & Reporting:
Maintain a database of past and potential guests, track booking performance, and deliver weekly reports on booking trends.
• Media Screening:
Promote host's appearances on other podcasts/television programs and keep an archive of highlight clips.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5+ years of experience in news booking, journalism, or related field.
• Strong editorial judgment and a deep understanding of conservative politics, current events & the health and wellness industry.
• Established network of newsmakers.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple booking priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations related to news programming.
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
• Experience booking for live television or major digital news platforms.
• Familiarity with social media platforms for guest discovery and outreach.
