r.Cup is on a mission to reduce the single-use plastic waste that is generated by the live event industry with our rentable, reusable cup program. We partner with leaders in the music industry like Live Nation, U2, Jack Johnson, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Bon Jovi, FarmAid, and Warped Tour and call upon local environmentalists and music lovers to help us disrupt the event industry's dependence on single-use plastic products. The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organized and dependable Road Manager to be the face of r.Cup in the field. The Road Manager will travel with various touring artists and festivals across the United States leading the advance process and on-site efforts to carry out the mission with unique operational and volunteer management know-how.
This role will work with the r.Cup team home office based in Minneapolis, MN, a remote National Event Director and collaboratively with a Road Team Assistant to implement the r.Cup program.
What You'll Do:
-Coordinate & confirm event details with venues prior to each show in conjunction with the National Event Director to ensure smooth event execution. This includes confirming beverage mix, cup sizes, number of stands, delivery details for load-in, digital signage options, volunteer logistics, security, and social media marketing coordination.
-Schedule and oversee the on-site walk through with the venue concessions and event team including counting-in r.Cups and ensuring proper distribution throughout the entire event
-Train and provide support to concessions team on how to implement the r.Cup program
-Work with Senior Account and venue partners on settlement, event reconciliation and cash reconciliation nightly
-Manage Road Team Assistant with daily tasks and responsibilities including the load-in and out of all cups, operational supplies, booth set-up, training, on-site oversight of the r.Cup program at concession stands, and end of night settlement
Curate volunteer on-boarding process in tandem with the Road Team Assistant
-Keep accurate and diligent records for all work with partners and required post-event documentation
-Report in daily on progress of events & suggest ways of improvement from each experience
-Send in written re-caps and manage paperwork , including (but not limited to) receipt reconciliation, venue settlement & volunteer cash reconciliation
-Assist with followup (thank you & contact up keep) to venue managers, warehouse contacts and volunteers via emails and phone calls
-Work within r.Cup current descriptions while working to better and streamline the road experience for current and future teams.
-Formalize a training for team depending on what tour /event/ venue you are at (will differ from location to location and band to band)
Who You Are:
An adventurous spirit who enjoys travel and live music, is flexible and able to think on your feet to solve problems, and enjoys working with people and fostering relationships.
-Have 3-4 years of experience working with live entertainment, organizing logistics, environmental, political or progressive issue campaigns
-Able to juggle a variety of projects at the same time and thrive when working under pressure with tight deadlines.
-Enjoy project and event managing
-Demonstrated experience with being on and leading teams
-Are passionate about creating change and are the type of person who always carries a refillable water bottle and coffee mug
-Not afraid to speak in front of people, energize teams, and inspire fans to create change
-Ability to look at the big picture while handling key tactical tasks at hand
