This is a Full Time Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Assistant Editor to support our editorial team in the creation and editing of high-quality content. This role involves QC'ing, downloading, uploading, drive organization, link creation, and managing drives. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a keen eye for detail, excellent grammar skills, and a passion for storytelling and content creation. This person should be a self-starter with a desire to learn and grow. Bonus points if you can share a reel!
Responsibilities
- Manage and log incoming and outgoing hard drives to and from clients
- Prepare footage requests, shot lists, scripts, and other documents related to the finishing process
- Identify and flag potential issues with media and/or projects in finishing to the Post Manager / Coordinator
- Import, organize and create selects when requested
- Organize footage and assemble dailies for easy use by Editors
- Build and proxy media with proper stems for Editors
- Prepare and transcode ingested media for editors and/or graphics
- Pull assets for graphics, music, and sound departments as requested
- Post pieces for clients and producers efficiently and quickly, including needed viewable copies, QC process, uploading; note any concerns to Post Manager / Coordinator and/or producers
- Prepare projects for finishing, in-house and out-of-house while maintaining precision and attention to detail. Follow procedures laid out in client provided spec sheets or directions from Post Manager / Coordinator.
- Work directly with Producers and Editors on creative cuts, as needed
- Identify workflow processes that could be enhanced along with suggestions for improvement
- Contribute to early creative cutting and organization of creative elements for Editors and Producers
Teamwork and Communication
- Intermediate to advanced PremierePro knowledge and skills
- Basic to Intermediate Avid knowledge and skills (Bonus)
- Demonstrated ability to be a dependable, enthusiastic member of AE team
- Develops and maintains positive, productive working relationships - especially with Editors and Producers
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing technology, processes and systems with positive demeanor
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all AV team members
