The Job

R&CPMK is looking for an Account Director to help support our gaming client’s esports initiatives both regionally and globally, as they develop their strategic outlook on the future of gaming. The position requires a strong desire to work collaboratively as part of a team, but also have the expertise to manage program elements directly and solve problems independently.
In order to succeed, you must be able to think big and develop strategic plans, while nailing the details. The ideal candidate will be proficient in sponsorship strategy and management, event execution, a skilled multitasker and experience working in a deadline-oriented environment. You should have a passion for, and working knowledge of the gaming industry and specifically the esports landscape. As you will work closely with the client and key stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve program goals & objectives, strong communication skills are a must.
This position can be located in any east coast-based office location of R&CPMK or Octagon: New York, NY; Stamford, CT; Charlotte, NC; or Atlanta, GA
Who we are looking for:
• You have a passion for and expertise in gaming and esports and knowledge about the gaming industry including its major publishers, players, leagues and ecosystems.
• Earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field
• Minimum of 7 year’s sponsorship, event marketing, marketing communications, event management/execution, social media/influencer marketing, talent management and/or sports marketing experience required, agency experience a plus
• Existing experience within the esports industry working with influencers, esport organizations, leagues and community members
• Knowledge and understanding of console and PC esports, including, but not limited to the following titles: EAFC, NBA2K, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken
• Provide expertise and learnings on gaming knowledge within the content and social media space on channels such as Twitch, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram
• Ability and flexibility to work effectively under short deadlines, travel as needed (including weekend and holiday) and interact one-on-one with our clients
• Capabilities to run an event or program with little to no oversight
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, manage conflicts, and build rapport across diverse teams and talent rosters.
• Must have the ability to build relationships while managing requirements and deliverables
• Demonstrated excellent project management skills, and the ability to work effectively under short deadlines and as part of a team
• Comfortable juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
• Detail oriented and superior organization skills
• Demonstrated ability to initiate work (self-starter) while having a “pitch in”, “roll up your sleeves” attitude and work ethic
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for crafting and modifying compelling marketing copy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability and flexibility to travel for extended periods of time including weekend/holiday work as needed
The work you’ll do:
In this role, you’ll also track performance, optimize activations, and guide our partnerships across the competitive gaming landscape.
Responsibilities
• Role will consist of a combination of strategic, operational and tactical projects focused on driving client’s business and brand through client’s esports sponsorships and initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Brand, Partnerships/Events, Channel Marketing, Publisher Relations, & Tournament Operations) to develop compelling content, campaigns, and marketing initiatives that position PlayStation esports as an industry leader.
• Provide day-to-day assistance and support to the Client Esports Partnerships team as well as oversight to other regional teams
• Lead initiatives for the casual, competitive gamer for the Client’s Esports Tournaments, Repeat.GG, and Evo Championship Series.
• Support the client on their esports influencer program
• Serve as the day-to-day lead on multiple projects
• Create and manage programs, projects and budgets
• Monitor and track partnerships and sponsorships for the Client Esports Partnerships Team
• Liaise with Client channel marketing management to coordinate social, email, and other channel touchpoints.
• Monitor social channels for trending news, ideas and report back to larger Esports team
• Share insights and best practices with the broader team to influence strategic decision-making.
• Management of ROI metrics and evaluation/reporting against other programs, which also includes Tracking, measuring, and analyzing the performance of talent marketing campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Maintain dashboards and reports that showcase ROI, engagement metrics, and overall campaign success to key stakeholders.
• Manage Client Esports Tournament programs with partners including brands, partners, and talent
• Demonstrated ability to develop innovative influencer strategies that align with overarching brand and business goals while driving tournament registrations.
• Support the Esports Marketing Team on major key beats including Evo Championship Series, which could include day-to-day activities around activation, sponsorship elements, content strategy, and hospitality
• Development and execution of event logistics including onsite management
• Develop and manage program plan/overviews, competitive reports, event wrap-up reports and key program tracking documents
• Administrative functions including budget/invoicing management, approvals, internal communication, contract routing, etc.
• Support account leadership in necessary projects that come up and related administrative duties as assigned
• Make a contribution to the overall account and new projects
