Search for Development QA Tester jobs in San Diego-CA
Psyonix, an independent video game developer, is looking for a qualified Development QA Tester candidate to join our 100+ person creative and tech team in downtown San Diego.
Responsibilities:
• Support the development of features through testing for ease of use, reliability, while diagnosing issues and reporting defects.
• Evaluate the game to ensure game design specifications are met and provide feedback on quality concerns.
• Participate in developer and design discussion and provide input on QA impact.
• Deliver status reports to production team, and communicate with all disciplines of development team.
• Create and execute test plans for products in development.
• Coordinate and run playtests, collect feedback, and deliver findings to developers.
• Create builds daily to test for stability and track down the potential source of issues.
• Perform regular smoke tests on builds, logging memory and performance issues.
• Validate check-ins between builds to ensure desired functionality is met, and send out reports on findings.
• Review commit logs and pass along useful information to larger QA team.
• Work side by side with programmers to inform them of potential issues and concerns early in the implementation
• Perform hand off of features to publishing QA, acting as first point of contact for questions and concerns publishing QA may encounter when validating the build
Requirements:
• Understanding of video game quality assurance practices, methodologies, terminology, and tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication, implementation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong passion for video game development.
• 2+ year QA Tester experience in games.
• Experienced in quality assurance reporting.
• Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
Preferred:
• Experience working directly on a live game
• Development knowledge of PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo.
• General programming knowledge
