Dear Applicants:
We are grateful during this strike to have a need to hire a local Virtual Assistant. This is a part time (or freelance if preferred) virtual position for someone based in Los Angeles or its surrounding area. When the strike resolves, we hope to have this person become full time. We are looking for a candidate who is very organized, detailed, prompt and thoughtful about the work they do. You will be set up for success. This is a hybrid of personal and professional VA work.
PROFICIENCY requirements: We are on Microsoft. One Drive, SharePoint, Outlook and Microsoft Teams. We also use Canva, Adobe Photoshop, CapCut, MUST have a WORKING PROFICIENCY with these programs. Must have worked with them in a current or past position and know the ins and outs of the entire program. Certification is a plus. Will be given clear deadlines and direction and proper tutorials and onboarding. Ability to write in AP style a major plus Any PR internships in a fast-paced office environment is a plus, though it is unusually quiet because of strike so great time to learn.
Having a working knowledge of CISION is also a PLUS but not required as we will teach.
You will assist with scheduling phone and video calls using Teams and Outlook, setting up sites in SharePoint, navigating permissions, creatively coming up with decks, updating client bios, doing media research, and keeping the calendar organized. You will help write press releases, and pitch letters, as well as help with correcting grammar and or spelling, work on intricate details and keeping those things moving. If you know AP style even better! Will also assist with social media for two accounts and set up a calendar of posts that are engaging and will work towards building follower base and engagement on TikTok and Instagram. Video experience also a plus.
Our business handles personal representation clients, social impact nonprofits in the DEI and LGBTQIA space, and consults.
Open to college graduates: MUST have SIX MONTHS working in an entertainment, social impact, crisis, public policy or communications office - to understand the pacing of firm. (its unusually quiet because of strike so great time to learn)
We have all the benefits and can talk more about it the interview. This starts at 20 hours a week between Monday - Friday. No work on weekends unless its pre-planned.
