Intern
Producers Guild of America
(New York, NY)
The Producers Guild of America East membership represents the varied and unique production community on the east coast, including both mainstream and independent producers working in Film, Television and New Media. The PGA East hosts a wide array of monthly events for its 1000 members, including professional seminars, workshops, panel discussions, mixers, and exclusive pre-release screenings with Q&As.
The Intern position entails assisting two to three consecutive, full days a week in the PGA East office located in SoHo. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the producing field, as well as a strong knowledge of the entertainment industry. Interns' duties include (but are not limited to) research, writing copy and preparing layout for invitations, answering phones, assembling mailings, prepping screenings, updating databases, attending events, cataloguing photos, running errands, etc. Interns will also assist with the creation and editing of original videos and content for the PGA’s website. This internship is an excellent opportunity to learn more about producing and the role of the Guild within the industry, as well as to engage with working producers in Film (both narrative and documentary), Television (long form, sitcom, daytime, sports, news, reality, documentary, etc.) and New Media.
In addition, interns must be available a number of evenings per month to help set up events, check in members, and wrap up at the end. Interns can attend most events they help arrange and most pre-release screenings. The PGA provides a daily lunch and subway stipend.
