Summary:
Reporting to Mastering Manager, the Digital Media Technician is primarily responsible for QC'ing and correcting the digital files of indie and studio clients in preparation for their digital release. Each Digital Media Technician should be a quick learner with the understanding that no job is too small. Must be a motivated self-starter who seeks out solutions.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Understand and differentiate different video frame rates and aspect ratios for HD and SD, NTSC/PAL/HD
Identify and conform 5.1 stereo mixes
Identify video issues such as interlacing and aliasing
Identify audio issues such as phasing and out of sync audio
Perform manual audio syncing with reels and frame rate changes
Conduct simple edits in Premiere, such as using the garbage matte to remove websites and making cuts to remove content
Other tasks as needed
Required Skills:
Team player
Previous experience with QC
Creative problem solver when fixing video files
Proficient in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop
Experience with QuickTime 7, assigning audio channels and identifying video/audio specs within QuickTime
Experience with Mac Caption and syncing text-based assets
Comfortable with change and able to adapt as workflow is regularly changing
Detail oriented and able to multitask
Maintain confidentiality
