SUMMARY
The Multimedia Manager is responsible for the successful day-to-day operations in the San Francisco Conference Center. The Manager will direct a team of full-time and on-call multimedia staff and will lead complex technical operations as required. They will be responsible for maintaining the schedule for PLI's studio-produced programs and will manage the product from recording to release. A wide degree of creativity and initiative is expected. This position will report to the Director, Multimedia Services. The Manager will be required to regularly interface and communicate with executive management, various departments, contractors, and vendors to maintain the systems and support all events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Operations
• The Manager ensures day-to-day operational excellence in the department.
• Oversees resource allocation implementation that will deliver products and projects on time.
• Provides leadership and direction to the team of technicians.
• Train staff on the control room equipment.
• Actively participate in productions when required.
• Manages the live and studio productions and participates when necessary.
• Makes recommendations to keep the technology used in the control room up to date and adopts new tools that enhance the team's ability to produce ''state of the art'' live events.
Effective Communications:
• Manages employee relations issues that may arise in a professional and timely manner.
• Effectively communicates the status and health of operations to supervisors at the New York City headquarters.
• Resolves internal and external issues that affect the delivery of the live presentation.
• Must be able to regularly coordinate with other departments to confirm event dates, times and equipment requirements
• Introduces new processes and procedures where and when appropriate
• Help research and test innovative technology for operational support, present findings in planning meetings.
• Develops and manages vendor and partner relationships.
• Collaborates with team members to improve product delivery to customers via enhancements and new features.
• Collaborates with in-house and external multimedia developers to fix and continuously improve PLI's media platform for state-of-the-art content delivery.
• Scheduling, on-boarding, training, and supervision of full time and on-call staff.
• Oversee change management for department SOP manual.
• Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for writing year end performance reviews and mid-year performance, goals and career development (PGD) discussions that are held to advise employees about their performance and their progress on their assigned goals.
The Manager will be responsible for assessing, documenting, and communicating performance feedback to the full time and on-call Multimedia employees in the SF (San Francisco) office.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• A college degree and/or five years solid experience with practices and procedures related to audio/video production, presentation technology and equipment.
• An ability to operate and maintain audio/video equipment, read and interpret technical information and be familiar with test equipment.
• Must demonstrate ownership and accountability for assigned work.
• Ability to work independently and generate results with minimum direct supervision, thereby instilling in management the confidence that the job will get done.
• Must be able to consistently follow-up and communicate progress on assigned tasks to management.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with multiple operating systems and basic networking.
• Knowledge of streaming media basics
• Required to work infrequent nights and weekends.
